Our Management Staff
Joanne Poynor, RN
Joanne Poynor, RN is currently serving as the administrator at San Angelo Home Health, a company she has co-owned, with two partners, since 2008.
Her career began simply enough in the late 70’s – she worked at St. John’s hospital as a switchboard operator. While at St. John’s she was awarded a scholarship to Angelo State University which made her dream of nursing possible.
Her training in college focused on Intensive/Critical Care. Upon graduation Joann took her training “on the road” and became a traveling nurse specializing in ICU/CCU throughout Texas and the West Coast. This experience cemented her love for San Angelo. She returned to San Angelo in the mid 90’s and began her career in Home Health. Joanne has worked for numerous other agencies, in various supervisory/management positions, and it was through these experiences that a vision for opening her own Home Health agency developed; it has proven to be her true love.
Early in her career she often asked herself, “Can home health be patient-centered within a family atmosphere?” She believed so. This is the vision that has driven her with so much passion toward growing San Angelo Home Health to be the premier nursing and therapy agency it is today.
Her responsibilities at San Angelo Home Health are many; and include nursing, as well as administration. She leads her staff with great character and wit, offering strong leadership to the many nurses she supervises. Her hobbies include spending time with her friends & family (including the “love of her life”, husband David). She resides in San Angelo, Texas.
